JU attempted rape Police announce reward for info on accused

Police have announced a reward calling upon the public to provide credible information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect linked to the attempted rape of a female student at Jahangirnagar University (JU), verifying a CCTV footage.
The Police Headquarters made the announcement through an urgent public message issued on Saturday.
A high official at the Police Headquarters said that they (police) were working to identify the man linked to the attack on the female student.
The Police Headquarters said that anyone with information about the suspect's identity, whereabouts or involvement in the incident has been asked to contact WhatsApp number 01320-089305.
Police assured that the identities of the informants would be kept strictly confidential.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night near the extended area of old Fazilatunnesa Hall and Al-Beruni Hall, where the female student was allegedly dragged into nearby bushes in a rape attempt.
