JU launches project for dev of tourism industry

Jahangirnagar University Thursday launched a countrywide project on the archaeology and ethno-archaeological study titled 'Preservation of Archaeological Sites and Ethnic Communities' culture for developing tourism industry', reports UNB.
This project has been launched with a view to developing the country's tourism industry by exploring archaeological sites and conducting research on ethnic communities' cultures. Its duration is from 2009-10 to 2013-14.
The project budget of Tk 81.2 million has been allocated from the Ministry of Education.
The project, approved by the planning commission, is divided into two segments - archaeological excavations in Rajshahi, Sylhet and Chittagang Divisions, and research on ethnic communities' cultures countrywide.
