JU men demand trial of Alam's killers

JAHANGIRNAGAR, Sept 30: Teachers, students and employees of Jahangirnagar University (JU) here Thursday demanded immediate trial of the killers of Mohammad Shah Alam (30), a lecturer of JU School and College.
Professor Abdul Jalil Bhuiya, principal of the college, made the demand at a press conference held at the Jahangirnagar University Journalists' Association (JUJA) office.
Mr Shah Alam was killed allegedly by his wife's family members centring family feud on August 13.
The teachers and family members of Shah Alam demanded expulsion of Jannatul Ferdaus Jui (20), a first year student of Bangla Department of JU and also wife of the killed teacher.
Earlier, students, teachers and employees of the college formed a human chain on August 24 and held rallies several times protesting the killing.
