JU student suspended

A student of Jahangirnagar University (JU) was suspended Tuesday on charges of assaulting a female student of the university, reports UNB.
The suspended student was named as Tonmoy Kumar Roy, of the Government and Politics department.
Earlier, Tonmoy Kumar Roy assaulted a female student on the night of March 6. But the victim did not file any complaint to the authorities at the time.
After coming to know of the incident through newspapers and a report filed by the assistant proctor of the university, realising the gravity of the incident, the vice-chancellor suspended Tonmoy under the 'Students Discipline Act- 2009, section 4, Ka (1)'.
