JU students protest over deforestation for dev work

Students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) held a march programme on the campus on Wednesday protesting against the ongoing development activities including construction of the IBA Building and the third administrative building without formulating a master plan.
At the event, they expressed concern about deforestation and disruption of the ecological balance through the construction process.
The protest march began with a rally at Bat-tala of the campus at 2.00pm.
After moving through different thoroughfares, the march terminated at the construction site of the IBA building.
Throughout the march, the students chanted slogans like 'Immediately formulate a master plan' and 'We oppose waste of public money and deforestation.'
At the rally, Moutusi Zubaida Rahman, general secretary of Zahir Raihan Film Society, emphasised the necessity of formulating a master plan for the campus.
