Juba League leader killed in Jessore crash

A local Juba League leader was killed and a rickshaw van-puller injured when a bus hit the latter’s vehicle at Bagachra Bazar in Sharsha Upazila in Jessore district on Friday night. The dead is Abdus Salam Babu, 27, publicity secretary of Bagachra ward unit of Juba League, the youth wing of Awami League. Witnesses said the accident occurred at night when a bus of Afil Jute Mills rammed the rickshaw van carrying Babu, coming from the opposite direction, leaving him dead on the spot and the van-puller injured. A case was filed, according to a news agency.
