Juba League men confine Ctg mayor for 2 hours

CHITTAGONG, Nov 2: The local BCL and Juba League activists today attacked the municipal employees, ransacked the office of a city corporation magistrate and confined the city mayor for about two hours.
At around 2.00 pm the activists under the banner of Chittagong Outdoor Advertising Owners' Association obstructed removal of the bill boards at Sholashahar rail gate no 2 when the CCC (Chittagong City Corporation) employees headed by magistrate Sheikh Saleh Ahmed were removing the bill boards there.
They were locked in a scuffle with the employees and the magistrate there, it is alleged.
Later the activists headed by Chittagong city Juba League Joint Secretary Mohiuddin Bachchu entered the magistrate's office in Chittagong City Corporation, exchanged hot words with magistrate Saleh and threw away chairs form the room.
The activists entered the office of city Mayor M Manjur Alam forcibly by dashing out the employees at the entrance, were locked in war of words with the mayor and confined him for about two hours, employees alleged.
Following the incident the activists of BNP and its student front staged demonstration outside the CCC at about 5.00.
