Jubo Dal leader chopped to death in Benapole

BENAPOLE, Aug 11 (UNB): A local leader of Jubo Dal was chopped to death by miscreants at Rajganj in the Putkhali border area here Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Ahmed, 42, president of the Putkhali union unit of Jubo Dal and son of Yusuf Ali, a resident of the village.
Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station, said a gang of miscreants called Shamim out of the house and took him to Mathbari garden of the village at about 11:00pm.
Later, they chopped him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Shamim's son Imran Hossain filed a murder case with Benapole Port Police Station.
Police arrested Shamim's nephew Kamrul for his alleged link to the killing.
