Jubo League leader gunned down

A local Jubo League leader was shot dead and another person injured by miscreants at Sadar upazila in Lakshmipur district on Monday. The dead is Kabir Hossain, 28, ward unit general secretary of Degholi union Jubo League, the ruling Awami League’s youth front and son of Sakhayet Ullah of Durgapur village. The injured was identified as Sharif, an AL activist and son of Abul Hossain of the village. Locals said Kabir and Sharif came under an attack by a gang of miscreants at Durgaur while they were returning home from a polling centre around 3:30am. The attackers opened fire targeting them from a secret place, leaving Kabir dead on the spot and Sharif critically injured by bullets, according to UNB.
