Jubo League leader Rubel on 5-day remand

RAJSHAHI, Sept 154 (BSS): A court here on Sunday put Jubo League leader Jahirul Islam Rubel on a 5-day remand over allegations of shooting at protesters during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5, 2024.
Judge of Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 Faisal Tarek passed the order as police placed Rubel before the court seeking a 10-day remand for interrogation.
"Rapid Action Battalion members arrested Rubel, a member of Jubo League's Rajshahi city unit, from Cumilla's Daudkandi area at around 12:45 am and handed over him to police.
