Jubo League man killed in N\\\'ganj AL-BNP clash

A Jubo League activist was chopped to death and 10 people were injured in a clash between the activists of Awami Leauge and BNP in Narayanganj district on Sunday. The dead is Amjad Hossain Mollah, 45. Local sources said Narayanganj’s Araihazar Upazila units AL (AL) and BNP had been at loggerheads since a poster of Nazrul Islam Azad, international affairs secretary of Jubo Dal central committee, was torn allegedly by some AL activists a few days back. Following the incident, the BNP activists also tore off a festoon of local AL leader Nazrul Islam Babu, also an MP. As a sequel, the two rival parties, equipped with firearms and sharp weapons engaged in a wave of chases and counter-chases at regular intervals at Duptar Bazar. At one point, Jubo League activist Amjad Hossain Mollah was stabbed indiscriminately by the opponents. Critically injured Amjad was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after admission, according to a news agency.
