Jubo League man shot dead in Lakshmipur

A local activist of Jubo League, the youth front of the Awami League, was shot to death by a gang of armed miscreants at Gopinathpur at Lakshmipur Sadar upazila on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Rabiul Isam, 30, an activist of South Hamsadi union unit Jubo League and son of late Jafar Ahmed of South Hamsadi village. Witnesses said a gang of miscreants, numbering 4/5, on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw arrived at the village and opened fire at Rabiul while he was sitting at a tea stall at about 10:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot. Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said Mohamamd Iqbal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Sation, according to UNB.
