Judges urged to perform duties with honesty

President M Zillur Rahman has urged the judges of the higher courts to perform their duties with sincerity, honesty to establish justice and the rule of law in the country, reports UNB. "The role of judges is very important in upholding the fundamental rights of people and ensure quick justice," he said while talking to newly appointed 10 additional judges of the High Court as they met him at Bangabhaban on Wednesday evening. The President laid emphasis on acquiring deep knowledge by the judges and lawyers about legal affairs through more studies. The additional judges are Justice SHM Nurul Huda Zaigirdar, Justice KM Kamrul Kader, Justice M Mozibur Rahman Miah, Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam, Justice Mohammad Ullah, Justice Mohammad Khorshid Alam Sarker, Justice AKM Sahidul Haque, Justice M Jahangir Hossain and Justice Abu Taher M Saidur Rahman. Secretaries to the President's Office were present on the occasion.
