Tuesday, 18 September 2007

The Supreme Court Tuesday ordered the government to complete all procedures of separating the judiciary from the executive by Oct 31. A full bench of the Appellate Division, headed by chief justice Md Ruhul Amin, issued the order. The government pleaded for more time to build infrastructure such as courtrooms and chambers for 431 judicial magistrates. The SC asked the works ministry to take necessary arrangements. Additional attorney general Salahuddin Ahmed took part in the hearing on behalf of the state.
