Jukto Front asks people to vote ‘No’ to corrupt

Tuesday, 23 December 2008

Jatiya Jukto Front led by Gano Forum and Bikalpadhara Monday urged the people to cast "No" vote against corrupt people who created obstruction to the functioning of effective democracy, reports UNB.
At a press briefing in the Front's office, their media chief Kamal Haider alleged that the caretaker government has been trying to rehabilitate corrupt people in politics at a time when national politics had started taking a positive turn.
He said Jukta Front candidates have been engaged in massive door-to-door campaigning against corruption, misrule and black money holders.
Haider said the people must stand beside the honest candidates and healthy politics in the December 29 elections and bring about meaningful change in the country's future politics.
He said prospects of a number of the Front's candidates are bright. They are Prof Badruddoza Chowdhury (Dhaka-6, Munshiganj 1,2), Major (retd) Abdul Mannan (Dhaka-11, Noakhali-4, Laxmipur-4) ex-Whip Abdur Rouf (Nilphamari-1), Golam Rabbani (Chapainawabganj-1), Maj Gen (retd) Ibrahim (Dhaka-8, 13, 17), Major (retd) Amin Ahmed Afsari (Gazipur-5, Dhaka-18, Delwar Hossain (Panchagarh-1), Mirza Habibullah Chowdhury (Thakurgaon-3), Advocate Jane Alam (Chittagong-10), Saiful Islam Chowdhury (Cox's Bazar-3), Prof KK Ferdous Khan (Rajshahi-4), Major (retd) Parvez Kabir (Natore-1), Bidhur Kanti Biswas (Khulna-5), Saima Jalil (Barisal-2), Principal Abdur Rashid Khan (Barisal-6), Engineer Abul Hossain (Tangail-5), Doctor Farid Ahmed (Brahmanbaria-3), Humayun Kabir (Narayanganj-1), Taolat Hossain (Narayanganj-5), Dr Abdullah Al Mahmud (Sherpur-3) and Mafizul Islam Khan Kamal (Manikganj-3).
