CHATTOGRAM, Jan 18 (BSS): Bangladesh Under-19 Women's team made a solid start to the ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup by romping to a five-wicket win over Nepal at Bangi, Malaysia on Saturday.
Bangladesh girl skittled Nepal out for just 52 in 18.2 overs and chased it down with ease to reach 53-5 in 13.2 overs. Jannatul Maoua played a vital role in bowling out Nepal cheaply with two wickets for 11 runs in four overs. Nishita Akter Nishi, Fahomida Choya, Anisa Akter Sobha took one wicket apiece to complement her.
Bangladesh's fielding was just electrifying as they effected five run-out dismissals to resist Nepal putting on any significant partnership.
Opener Sana Parvin was the top-scorer for Nepal with 19 while Seemana KC made 10.
Bangladesh's top order fared badly with first three batters being out in single-digit figures. Sadia Islam then made 16 and skipper Sumaiya Akter added 12 to help the side canter to the victory without further hiccup.
Bangladesh will take on mighty Australia in their next match on Monday before facing off Scotland on Wednesday.
