Justice Fazlul Haque chargesheeted in graft case

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Tuesday pressed charges against former law adviser Justice Fazlul Haque, now at the centre of a bribery scandal, in the case filed against him for amassing illegal wealth and hiding information about it. ACC assistant director Mohammad Ibrahim, also the investigating officer, submitted the charge sheet with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court against the law adviser of the President Iajuddin-led caretaker government for acquiring wealth worth Tk 18 million beyond known sources of income and concealment of information of wealth worth about Tk 9.1 million. Earlier, the anti-graft watchdog approved the submission of chargesheet against the former Appellate Division judge Thursday. The investigation officer applied to the court for issuance of arrest warrant against Justice Fazlul Haque. There will be 38 witnesses in the case. — UNB
