Justice Karim appointed new Chief Justice

President Zillur Rahman Thursday appointed Appellate Division judge Mohammad Fazlul Karim the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, reports UNB.
His appointment will come into effect after he takes the oath of office on February 8, 2010.
The President made the appointment in exercise of his power under article 95(1) of the Constitution.
