Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury seeks impeachment of CJ

Supreme Court justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury has reportedly sent a letter to the President of Bangladesh seeking impeachment of Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Kumar Sinha, alleging he had violated the Constitution and his oath. Bringing allegations of 'gross misconduct' and 'violating constitutional oath' Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury has mentioned in his letter that the chief justice 'out of his personal grudge' has removed him (Shamsuddin Chowdhury) from the Supreme Court bench that deals with cases. The top appeal court judge said that the chief justice has not given him jurisdiction to sit in the bench from September 9. Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury reportedly sent his letter to the President's office on Sunday, according to a news agency.
