Jute growers happy over price in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Nov 2 (BSS): Jute growers' of the district are happy getting fair price of their jute produced this year.
Some jute growers and traders said over the last few years, farmers became disappointed for low jute price for which cultivation of jute decreased here.
But this year's reasonable price would encourage farmers again to go for jute cultivation. Now jute is being sold in between Taka 1,800 and Taka 2,000 per maund.
DAE sources said jute was cultivated on 10,000 hectares of land this year in the district with a production target of 80,000 tonnes of jute.
