Jute mill catches fire in Natore

A fire broke out in a private jute mill at Dattapara suburb in Natore town on Tuesday morning. The fire gutted a large quantity of raw jute, jute products and factory tools. Fire Service officials said the fire erupted in a room of the Natore Jute Mills in the BSCIC industrial area at about 11:45am and the blaze soon engulfed the entire factory. On information, four fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after several hours of hectic efforts with the help of police and the locals. However, the fire fighters could not say the origin of the fire nor they could say the extent of damage caused by it, according to UNB.
