KAFCO, Southeast Bank, Unilever donate for flood victims

KAFCO: KAFCO has contributed Tk 15 million (1.5 crore) to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund.
KAFCO Chairman Md Nurul Amin and Chief Executive Officer Md Qaiser Jamal handed over the cheque for the amount to Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed Saturday.
KAFCO, a local joint-venture company with shareholding from Japanese and European companies, has extended its cooperation towards the relief operations.
Southeast Bank: Southeast Bank Limited has recently donated Tk 9.4 million (94 lakh) for the flood victims of the country as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The bank donated Tk 5.0 million to the Chief Advisor's Relief Fund. Chairman of the bank Alamgir Kabir accompanied by Managing Director Neaz Ahmed handed over the cheque to Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed at the latter's office.
The bank also donated Tk 1.0 million for the flood victims through Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF).
The employees of the bank donated their one day's salary of over Tk 0.4 million to the Chief Advisors Relief Fund for flood victims.
Besides, Southeast Bank Foundation donated Tk 2.5 million to the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) for relief operations among the recent hill-slide victims of the port city. The Foundation also distributed Tk 0.5 million among the tornado-affected people of Chhagalnaiya.
Unilever: Unilever Bangladesh Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Mohan handed over a cheque for Tk 2.0 million to Chief Advisor Fakhruddin Ahmed as flood donation at the latter's office recently.
Unilever Bangladesh Limited Customer Development Director Reazul Haque Chowdhury was also present on the occasion.
In addition, Unilever Bangladesh managers contributed from their salary to provide relief materials to the flood-affected people. The relief materials include 5.0 kg relief packs containing rice, lentil, salt, oral saline and water-purifying tablets for distribution in 14 towns across the country.
