Kailashtila NGLF plant likely to go into operation in Oct

SYLHET, July 28 (UNB): Kailashtila NGL Fractionation Plant in Golapganj Upazila, a potential venture in the energy sector, is likely to go into production next October to meet part of the country's growing need for fuels.
Official sources said work on the project, being implemented by Chinese firm EPC, is nearing completion.
The authorities have fixed a target of annually producing 8,560mt LPG, 13,140mt petrol and 14,600mt diesel.
The government of Bangladesh and Tiangcheng Chemical Engineering Corporation of China signed an agreement on October 18, 2005 for producing the petroleum products.
Meanwhile, there have been allegations raised against a section of officials with regard to selection of officials for training abroad.
Local people alleged that the officials, "violating the rules, of the ministry concerned, nominated eight officials for training purpose.
The authorities concerned have started investigation of alleged irregularities to ensure smooth management of the petroleum plant.
