Kaiser verdict being delivered

The 2nd war crimes tribunal of Bangladesh has started delivering its verdict on former Jatiya Party minister Syed Mohammad Kaiser for his crimes against humanity during Bangladesh’s independence struggles in 1971. The verdict was being delivered in Kaiser’s presence, who is up on the dock. ICT-2 Chairman Justice Obaidul Hassan started reading out the background to the 884-page verdict at after 11am. The other ICT-2 judges Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Md Shahinur Islam is also present in the tribunal. Kaiser, a Muslim League leader in 1971, was later a minister of state in the government of military dictator Hussain Mohammed Ershad. He has been charged with murder, massacre, rape, extortion, arson and torture in 16 counts filed with the International Crimes Tribunal-2, according to a news agency.
