Kaizen model to be followed in SME

Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation (SME Foundation) managing director Ihsanul Karim on Tuesday said they will follow the Japanese ‘Kaizen’ model for developing the SME sector in the country. Addressing a seminar on ‘Productivity Enhancement of SMEs through Implementation of Kaizen’, he said the SME Foundation will launch a project to train SME entrepreneurs for the implementation of ‘Kaizen’ model. The Japanese word Kaizen means improvement. The model focuses on continuous improvement of the manufacturing. Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Mohammad Shahjahan Khan and Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) senior adviser Tadato Onitsuka were also present at the seminar, according to a news agency.
