Kalsindur village waiting to welcome its eight victorious girls

MYMENSINGH, Sept 21 (UNB): Family members, neighbours and football fans at remote Kalsindur village in Dubaora upazila of Mymensingh are eagerly waiting to welcome the eight women footballers of the national team which have brought glory for Bangladesh by winning the SAFF Women's Football Championship.
The villagers are overwhelmed with joy and happiness as eight girls of the champion team are from Kalsindur village.
They are Sanjida, Maria Manda, Shamsunnahar (Junior), Shamsunnahar (Senior), Sheuli Azim, Sajeda, Tahura Akhtar and Marzia Akhtar.
Preparations are underway in the village to accord them a grand reception. They are counting the days when the golden girls will come. Kalsindur School and College Assistant Professor Nazmul Haque said that a joint meeting of local administration, public representatives and Kalsindur School and College authorities will be held on Thursday noon to welcome the women footballers.
Fans flooded social media with posts demanding that the winners be welcomed from the airport on an open-top bus upon their return.
The champions are returning to Bangladesh from Nepal on Wednesday afternoon. The Bangladesh Football Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have made arrangements for the reception of the team.
