Kamrangirchar factory fire kills 1

A fire at a ready-made garment (RMG) unit in Kamrangirchar in the city on Thursday left one dead and three injured. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Local people said a devastating fire erupted at a garment factory at Kurarghat around 6:00am. On information several firefighting units arrived on the spot from the headquarters of the Fire Service and Civil Defence and Palasahi fire station and brought the fire under control after several hours; of hectic efforts. The injured garment workers are Rezaur Sohag (30), Rubel (30) and Md Shahin (28). Police and factory workers said three other people fell ill due suffocation caused by the heat and smoke of the fire. They were rescued and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
