Kamraruzzaman shifted to Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur

M Kamaruzzaman, sentenced to death for wartile offences, was taken to Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Tuesday. Jail sources said Kamaruzzaman, who was kept at Part-2 condemned cell of Kashimpur Jail, was taken to Dhaka in a prison van around 11:45am amid tight security. The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the verdict of the International Crimes Tribunal-2 that had condemned Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary general M Kamaruzzaman to death for committing crimes against humanity during the country’s independence struggles in 1971, according to a news agency.
