Kamrul Islam new ED, COO of SAPL

Mr Kamrul Islam Mazumder has joined Summit Alliance Port Limited (SAPL), the leading container yard and off-dock in Bangladesh, as executive director (ED) and chief operating officer (COO), said a press release.
Prior to joining the SAPL, his last assignment was with Maersk Bangladesh Limited, where he started his career as manager, Chittagong in 1997.
During his tenure there, Mr Mazumder oversaw pan-country operations and security apart from general management of the Chittagong Branch. He last served as general manager (operations).
He completed his early education from Faujdarhat Cadet College and Bangladesh Marine Academy before going on to pass his Master Mariner examinations from Liverpool, England.
He started his sea career as a cadet with the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation in 1977, before moving to a Hong Kong-based company to serve in various sea-going capacities on board bulk carriers.
