Karma Sangsthan Bank disburses Tk 13m in Brahmanbaria

BRAHMANBARIA, Jan 26: The Brahmanbaria Branch of Karma Sangsthan Bank (KSB) has so far disbursed Tk 13 million (1.30 crore) among 170 young entrepreneurs and unemployed youths out of the target of Tk 25.30 million this financial year. The disbursement percentage is fifty-one.
Meanwhile, the bank recovered outstanding loan worth Tk 7.36 million out of the target of Tk 18.51 million during the same period. The percentage of recovery is forty-one.
The bank also recovered Tk 0.23 million classified loan out of the target of Tk 1.15 million.
The loans were given for poverty alleviation so that the youths could invest the money in various projects like cattle rearing, pisciculture, poultry and dairy farms, weaving industry, furniture shop, radio-TV repairing, computer service, nursery, grocery shop, pharmacy, tailoring, small and heavy motor mechanical workshop and handicraft etc.
No collateral will be needed and no interest will be charged for loan up to Tk 50,000 while eight to twelve per cent interests will be charged for loans above Tk 50,000.
