Karmasangsthan Bank hosts 'Regional and Branch Head Conference'

Karmasangsthan Bank held its 'Regional and Branch Head Conference-2023' at the Biddut Bhaban in Dhaka on Saturday.
Chairman of the board of directors of the bank and former secretary Md Sayedul Islam presided over the event while Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah was present as the chief guest.
Director General of NGO Affairs Bureau SK. Md. Moniruzzaman, Additional Secretary of National Skill Development Authority Quamrun Naher Siddiqua, Additional Secretary of Financial Institutions Division Md Azimuddin Biswas, and Managing Director of the bank Shirin Akhter were present as special guests.
Deputy Managing Director of the bank Meher Sultana, General Managers Gautam Saha and Mahmuda Yasmin along with high officials from the head office, all divisional heads, audit officers, and all regional managers and branch managers of 277 branches of the bank attended the conference.
In his speech, Chief Guest Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah emphasized the importance of leveraging the demographic dividend to create more job opportunities.
In financial year 2022-23, the classified loans of the bank stood at over Tk 900 million (Tk 90.17 crore), which accounted for only 2.72 per cent of the total loans.
In the same period, the bank disbursed loans amounting to over Tk 23.58 billion (Tk 2358.98 crore) and collected Tk 21.08 billion (Tk 2108.97 crore).
Compared to the previous fiscal year of 2021-22, the bank achieved a significant growth of 27 per cent in loan disbursement and 22 per cent in loan collection in FY 2022-23.
The state-owned bank achieved an operating profit of over Tk 870 million (Tk 87.07 crore) in the recently concluded financial year, up from Tk 642 million (Tk 64.28 crore) in the financial year 2021-22.
This success in all indicators demonstrates the bank's commitment to reaching its business targets, resulting in a profit growth rate of 36 per cent, the highest since the bank's establishment.
