Karmashangsthan Bank disburses Tk 29.24m in B'baria

Brahmanbaria, August 21: Brahmanbaria branch of Karmashangsthan Bank (KB) had disbursed TK 29.24 million(Tk 2.92 crore) among the young entrepreneurs and unemployed youths in the last five years in Brahmanbaria.
The loans were given for poverty alleviation so that the youths could invest the money in various projects like cattle rearing, crop cultivation, pisciculture, poultry and dairy farms, weaving industry, furniture shop, radio-TV repairing, computer shop, cottage industry, nursery, grocery shop, pharmacy, tailoring, workshop etc.
No collateral will be needed for loans up to Tk 50,000 and interest will not also be charged for this amount while eight to twelve per cent interest will be charged for loans above TK 50,000.
Since the KB had opened its branch in Brahmanbaria on June12, 2000 it distributed Tk 29.24 million(Tk 2.92 crore) and recovered Tk 21.82 million of its outstanding loans in the same period.
