Karmashangsthan Bank distributes Tk 24.9 million

RANGAMATI, Aug 9 (BSS): Rangamati branch of Karmashangsthan Bank has distributed over 24.9 million among the young entrepreneurs for setting up agro-based industries considering the availability of raw materials in the district.
The bank has sanctioned loans for making investment in 25 sectors including handloom, poultry, dairy farm, furniture making, grocery and radio TV repairing, bank sources said adding the bank has been encouraging young entrepreneurs to come forward with loan proposals for agro-based industry.
No collateral will be needed for loans up to Tk 50,000 and interest will not also be charged for this amount while eight to 12 per cent interest will be charged for loans above Tk 50,000.
Since the Karmasangsthan Bank had opened its branch in Rangamati in 1998-99, it distributed Tk 24.9 million among 734 youths.
Of the distributed loan, the bank realised Tk 20.11 million during the period.
