Karwan Bazar fire doused

The fire that erupted at a dried fish market in Karwan Bazar in Dhaka on Tuesday has been doused. Firefighters put out the fire within half an hour. However, no casualty is reported. Fire Cervice and Civil Defence Control room Inspector Syed Monirul Islam said locals had largely controlled the flame by the time several fre fighting units could reach the spot from different fire stations in the city. The fire broke out just before 12pm in a stack of styrofom boxes at the dried fish market. Being informed six fire-fighting units were rushed to the spot and doused the fire within 30 minutes. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage caused by it could not be known, according to a news agency.
