Kazi Humayun Azad dead

Kazi Humayun Azad, a former acting chairman of Bangladesh Tariff Commission, died following a massive heart attack at his apartment residence at North Road in the city's Bhutergoli area Saturday morning.
Upon his retirement, Azad joined the Financial Express as a senior editorial consultant.
He was 61. Azad was buried at the Azimpur graveyard in the afternoon.
Humayun Azad complained of severe pain in his heart Friday night and died in bathroom Saturday morning.
Until his death, Azad was working with the Financial Express. He endeared himself to his colleagues in the FE.
He used to write columns on different socio-political and economic issues even when he was serving as a top government official. In his prolonged service career as a civil servant, he worked with the Ministry of Information and other ministries of the government.
