Kazi Nizamuddin Omar Memorial Award Fund established at BUET

Former professor of Dept of Chemical Engineering of BUET K Ikthyar Omar has donated Tk 0.3 million to BUET Tuesday for establishing Kazi Nizamuddin Omar Memorial Award Fund, says a press release.
Ikthyar Omar, son of Kazi Nizamuddin Omar, handed over a cheque to Registrar of BUET Md Shahjahan at the office of the Vice-Chancellor in a simple ceremony.
The award will be given annually to a meritorious student of BUET going to Level-4, Term-1 from Level-3, Term-2 considering in the fields of (1) All BUET competition (2) CGPA above 3.50 and (3) Achievements in extra curricular activities.
Profit from investment of this money will be used to award one-time cash award, a citation and a crest. Cash award will vary on availability of profit from this capital fund.
Among others, Vice-Chancellor of BUET AMM Safiullah and former VC of BUET Nooruddin Ahmed, were present on the occasion.
