KHULNA, Jun 28: Khulna City Corporation today (Thursday) has announced annual budget for Tk. 3.09 billion for the fiscal 2012-13. The proposed budget is Tk. 1.27 billion more than the previous year's (2011-2012).
Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque announced the budget at a function arranged at its conference room before the journalists, councilors and elites of the city.
Of the proposed budget Tk 633.7 million will be spent out of corporations own fund while the rest Tk 2.54 billion will be spent from government allocation.
Like the previous years, no additional holding tax has been imposed for the FY 2012-13. Rather, the corporation has planned to strengthen the collection of existing tax and re-assessment of the holding tax to ensure civil service to the city dwellers.
