KCC earns Tk 15.44m from makeshift cattle mkt

KHULNA, Oct 9: KCC set up a record collection of revenue from makeshift cattle market this year. Khulna City Corporation sat up a makeshift cattle market on the eve of Eid-ul Azha at Joragate area under the direct supervision of it.
According to sources KCC has earned a revenue of over Tk 15.44 million by selling 10,155 cattleheads which is Tk 3 million more than the previous year. Tk 12.66 million was earned in 2013, Tk 10.06 million in 2012 and Tk 10.65 million in 2011 from this cattle market.
Panel Mayor-1 and Convennor of the KCC cattle market committee Anisur Rahman Biswas said that they took a challenge to collect revenue from the makeshift cattle market. Councilors and officials of KCC have succeeded over the collection of revenue this year through computerized system.
It may be mentioned that the cattle market had been started at Joragate on September 29 and continued nonstop till Eid day morning.
