Keep 60 JS seats for minorities: Hindu leaders
Friday, 2 May 2014
Leaders of the Hindu community on Friday demanded that 60 seats be kept aside in parliament for all the minority groups to ensure their empowerment in society and prevent communal attacks. Addressing a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club, they also demanded immediate arrest of the attackers on the Hindu community as well as proper rehabilitation of the affected people. The human chain was organised by Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Moha Jote in protest against the recent communal attacks on Hindu community members across the country. Speaking on the occasion, Mohajote secretary general Gobinda Chandra Pramanik alleged that the government has failed to take any effective initiative to protect the lives and property of the Hindu community from communal attacks, according to UNB.
