Keep medical coaching centres closed till Oct 24: Ministry

The government on Tuesday directed all medical coaching centres to suspend their activities till the admission tests for medical and dental colleges are held. The order came through a circular issued by Health Ministry with a view to ensuring transparency in the admission tests for medical and dental colleges which are scheduled to be held on October 24. The Health Ministry noted that there are allegations that fraud and corrupt syndicates based on coaching centres, or on internet connectivity, are spreading ‘100 per cent common suggestion’ among the admission aspirants in exchange for money. The Health Ministry also asked the Home Ministry, the police and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for taking necessary steps to ensure enforcement of the order, according to UNB.
