Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sayeed Khokon asked traders on Tuesday not to hike the prices of essentials during Ramadan and hang price lists in their shops, reports UNB.
The mayor gave the directive while visiting Hatirpool Bazar. "I urge the traders not to raise the prices of essentials ahead of and during Ramadan as it only causes sufferings to people," he told reporters after his visit to the kitchen market.
Later, the mayor visited the flower and bird market at Katabon in the city and evicted small shops which were set up illegally on footpaths.
