Keep selection-grade, time-scale in pay-scale

Leaders of five organisations of officials and employees working in Bangladesh Secretariat demanded keeping the provisions of time-scale and selection-grade in the new pay-scale for the government servants.
They placed the demand at a meeting with Finance Minister AMA Muhith at his secretariat office on Monday.
They also demanded reducing gap among the twenty grades, payment of 20 per cent 'secretariat allowance', and meeting the Prime Minister's pledge of counting the number of family members to six from existing four in the pay-scale.
After the meeting they informed newsmen that the finance minister has assured them of keeping the provisions of time-scale and selection-grade in the new pay-scale.
The decision on other demands will be taken after consultation with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, they also said.
The trade union (TU) leaders who attended the meeting include: executive president of Bangladesh Secretariat Official-Employees Oikka Parishad Abu Sayeed and secretary general Ruhul Amin, president of Bangladesh Secretariat Official-Employees Songjukto Parishad Nizamul Islam Bhuiyan, president of Bangladesh Secretariat Personal Officers Association Rezwan Chowdhury, president of Bangladesh Secretariat Fourth-Class Employees Association Mohammad Ali and general secretary Abul Hashem, and president of Bangladesh Secretariat Library Professionals' Association Hannan Mia and secretary general Shamima Akter Chowdhury.
