Keep vigil against conspiracy, says Dipu Moni

CHITTAGONG, May 7: Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said the government is working hard to build a happy and prosperous nation but certain quarter is out to foil the welfare schemes.
She asked the people to keep vigilant against those elements and said the government will always remain with the people. "The government's stand against all conspiracy, terrorism, communalism and political killing will be flawless," she said.
Dipu Moni was addressing as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of International Buddha Jayanti Festival in the city's Polo Ground this morning. On this occasion, 205 images of Lord Buddha were handed over to the foreign minister.
The Thai government earlier donated the images for the Buddhist temples in Bangladesh through Dhammakaya Buddhist Research and Publication Centre of Thailand.
She thanked the Thai government for the donation and said the gesture of cooperation of the government of Thailand will further consolidate the bilateral relation of the two countries.
The function was also addressed by Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Amin, City Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chow-dhury, Chairman of CHT Development Board Bir Bahadur, Dhaka University VC AAMS Arefin Siddique, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Sarod Kewari and ATN Bangla chairman Mahfuzur Rahman.
