Khairul Kabir's death anniversary

Today is the thirteenth death anniversary of journalist and banker Khairul Kabir. He died of old age ailment in Singapore on this day in 1997, says a press release.
Kabir was the founder editor of the Daily Sangbad and first Life Member of the Jatiya Press Club.
He was the Vice Chairman and CE0 of The Union Bank Ltd, formerly know as the Bank of Tripura Assam & Bengal and the first Chairman and Managing Director of Janata Bank. He was a Fellow of the American Bankers Association.
Kabir was one of the authors of the historic 6-point programme, which was the basis of the demand for autonomy for East Pakistan. He was a close associate and friend of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Khan Abdus Sabur Khan, National Professor Abdur Razzak, Taffazzal Hossain Manik Miah, Kazi Anwarul Haq, Dr Mahmood Hussain, and other illustrious sons of Bengal.
He was selected by the United States in 1955 for the Leadership Programme and successfully completed it.
