Education Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman Saturday said the government has reached the final phase of its move on the probable release of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and her sons Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Coco, reports bdnews24.com from Chittagong.

Asked about the government's latest stand on the demand for the release of Khaleda and her two sons, Hossain Zillur said, "It can't be done overnight."

"But we are in the final phase of our success. All types of initiatives are underway for the nation to get a meaningful election and a greater unity in national life," the adviser said.

Hossain Zillur, one of the advisers tasked with coordinating the dialogue with the political parties, said, "BNP is one of the biggest parties of the country, and it represents a big part of the population. The government is coordinating both humanitarian and legal aspects to ensure participation of the two big parties in the election."

"Our aim is to create an environment in which political parties have full confidence. We are working towards a specific goal." The government has been working to ensure post-election stability, and to bring a qualitative change to politics, he said.

Asked to comment on the questions being raised by some quarters about the release of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Hossain Zillur said, "It' none of our business to hear who is saying what."
