Friday, 28 February 2014
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will visit Rajbari district on Saturday. During her visit, Khaleda will address a public rally as the chief guest at Rajbari railway ground in the afternoon. The BNP-led 19-party alliance will organise the rally. Sources at BNP said Khaleda is likely to leave Dhaka city for Rajbari town around 11:00am. The public rally, first to be addressed by Khaleda outside Dhaka in this year, is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start. The opposition party expects that a good number of people from Rajbari, Kushtia, Faridpur and other adjoining districts will join the rally, to be held at Shaheed Abdul Aziz Khushi Railway Maidan. BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan said it will be Khaleda Zia’s first visit to a district in 2014. He, however, did not specify the agenda behind Rajbari visit by Khaleda, also the 19-party chief, who had been interned at her Gulshan residence in November and December last year. He said the former prime minister will leave Gulshan for Rajbari town around 11am and will go to Shaheed Khushi Railway ground after staying over briefly at Rajbari Circuit House around 3pm. Khaleda may give a guideline about the next course of action in the 19-party's movement in her speech at the rally, sources at the opposition combine said, according to a news agency.
