Khaleda announces 19-member standing committee

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia announced tonight a 19-member standing committee, the highest decision making body of the party, reports UNB.
The committee members are:1. Begum Khaleda Zia, 2. Khandker Delwar Hossain, 3. Dr RA Gani,4. Dr Khandker Musharraf Hossain,5. Barrister Maudud Ahmed,6. M Shamsul Islam,7. Lt Gen (rtd) Mahbubur Rahman, 8. Tariqul Islam,9. Brig Gen (rtd) ASM Hannan Shah,10. M K Anwar,11. Sarwari Rahman,12. Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar,13. Mirza Abbas,14. Gayshwar Chandra Roy,15. Dr Moyen Khan, 16. Nazrul Islam Khan,17. Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia,18. Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and19. Tarique Rahman (by virtue of his position).
The chairperson also announced the names of senior joint secretary general and joint secretaries general. They are: Senior Joint Secretary General: Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Joint Secretaries General: Amanullah Aman,Mizanur Rahman Minu,Barkatullah Bhulu,Mohammad Shahjahan,Salahuddin Ahmed,Barrister Mahbubuddin Khokan,Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed (incumbent office secretary).
The standing committee members and the joint secretaries general will hold the office for a term of three years.
Chairperson Khaleda Zia announced the standing committee and the names of joint secretaries general in accordance with the power entrusted on her by the just concluded nation council of BNP.
