Khaleda betrays FFs supporting war criminals: Nasim
Saturday, 8 October 2011
Former Home Minister Mohammad Nasim Friday said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia betrayed the freedom fighters (FFs) by supporting war criminals, reports BSS.
Jama'at-Shibir dependent politics will dilute people's support to her party in future, he said at the discussion 'War criminals, militancy: role of Zia and Khaleda' organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote in the auditorium of Photo Journalists' Association auditorium in the city.
Former Awami League (AL) leader Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, organizing secretary of Dhaka City AL Shahe Alam Murad and noted film actor Faruq, among others, spoke at the discussion with central leader of Sangskritik Jote Habibur Rahman in the chair.
Urging BNP to participate in the next parliamentary polls, Nasim said there is no way to come to power without election.
The present government cannot be ousted from power by hatching conspiracy as it is an elected government, Nasim added.
If BNP has any specific proposal for strengthening the election commission, the party should place those at the parliament, he added.
Claiming all elections during the tenure of the present government have been free and fair, Nasim said it is possible to hold a neutral and credible election without caretaker government system.
