Khaleda calls AL a \\\'terror group\\\'

Saturday, 27 September 2014

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday said law and order has immensely deteriorated under the ruling Awami League (AL). She was speaking at a mass rally of the BNP-led 20-party alliance at Jamalpur Zilla School ground in Jamalpur town on Saturday. The BNP chief, who heads the coalition, mentioned several killings that took place during the AL regime and held its leaders responsible for those acts. ‘This Awami League has been killing and making people disappear. It is a party of killers and hijackers,’ she told thousands of people gathered at the venue braving bad weather to hear from her. The AL, which returned to power through the January 5 national poll, which her party boycotted, has formed an ‘illegal’ government, she claimed. Reiterating her demand for abolition of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Khaleda said their guns were now being used for political gains. Addressing the mass rally – her 4th since the Jan 5 election – she demanded early polls under a non-party ‘neutral’ administration, according to a news agency.
