Khaleda calls on Palestinian ambassador

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has issued a letter to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas offering her sympathy over the death and suffering in Gaza Strip. Palestinians in Gaza observed Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday as death toll from an all-out offensive by Israel went over 1,000. Khaleda went to the Palestinian embassy in Dhaka to offer her sympathy today. She handed Ambassador Shaher Mohammad a cheque for Tk 0.5 million for the victims in Gaza. The former prime minister reached the embassy in Baridhara around 5:15pm and had a meeting of over half an hour with the ambassador. Ambassador Mohammad expressed his gratitude to Khaleda for her sympathy, according to bdnews24.com.
